While I am unsuccessfully hacking away at Scarlett's ugly porcelain self (i.e. in Silent Hill), a new game has made its way to XBLA. This time it is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. Remember it was set for July 22 but then switched places with Splosion Man? TMNT is ready for release today – and, incidentally, I'm still waiting. Let me brush up on what to expect from the game.
TMNT was developed by Ubisoft for XBLA and will feature the pizza-loving turtles performing all sorts of feats. Story goes that they must save the world from a nasty old robot. You also know what else to expect from the game; as the title implies, the unorthodox ninjas will go back in time and ruffle some feathers.
I've checked the screenshots and video at IGN and it looks interesting. For me, the look is not as alluring as Splosion Man or Monkey Island but the gameplay certainly looks fun. The combo moves, flying kicks and swordplay does appeal to me. Instances like the skateboarding moment shows that there will be an entertaining mix of action and fighting tactics in this game.
My plans didn't include full download of this game but after seeing the video – which was followed subsequent nostalgic memories of Turtle power – I am leaning towards a purchase. Of course the price drop from 1200 MS to 800 MS helped nudge my decision as well. Check it out; I assure you, you will be happily humming the theme song for the rest of the day.
