It is Wednesday and a new bad boy has come into town today. I'm talking about Rocket Riot, the fast-paced XBLA game from Dutch Game Studio CodeGlue. It is a game that boasts bazooka-toting, jet-fueled players. Offering a side ways glance at the mayhem and destruction evident within the game, the aim of the game is blasting your enemies out of the water, land, ship ... you get the drift. 

While it is basically a shooter game, the overall gameplay appears to require a certain amount of control, which definitely adds to its appeal. So there you are, maneuvering your way through the nooks and crannies of various maps as the enemy lurks in hidden spots, steadying your aim as you come across your enemy and then boom! 

By the way, as the ad suggests, pixel is king in this game. The bright color schemes brings nostalgic memories of the good old gaming days and wait - as you destroy everything around with your trusty bazooka, the whole world turns into a rain of pixels.

Looks like you can play the single player mode and face an onslaught of enemies or opt for face-to-face destruction with 2 or more players. There appears to be goal-orientated maps which should be quite fun for multi-player mode. Where enemies are concerned, you get to fend off zombies, ninjas and pirates. Speaking of which, I also recommend checking out RocketRiot on Twitter. Seems like one of the swashbuckling pirates tweets every so often about the game .. in between sword fights and nabbing a bottle a rum, of course.
