What's happening this week? Or is everyone caught up in Brutal Legend Demos and Gameplay videos? I wouldn't blame you, the game seems to be pretty mind-blowing (I'm basing this on the demo, am hoping the full game is 10 times better). So, other than gushing about, what else has been going on?

Lucidity & South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play

LucidityLucidityThis week's XBLA releases are exciting, to say the least. Lucidity is out as is a South Park-based tower defense game. This should be interesting. First of all, let me talk about South Park. It's your run of the mill tower defense game; build towers, fend off enemies, throw snowballs at baddies, you know the drill. Except this time, it is the cute and snarky kids from South Park. This certainly adds to the appeal. I may have my reservations about playing strategy games on a console but this is one game I see myself really getting into. As for the game itself, you can play as any number of South Park characters and unlock more folks as you go along. Oh and each character has their own fancy moves, just so you know. The multiplayer mode will of course be of interest to many folk. Go check it out – the game is available for 800 MS points.

And now there is Lucidity. I'm pretty sure I have gushed about it before. It is the brand new game from the same folks who did the latest version of The Secret of the Monkey Island. This puzzle-solving game boasts cute cartoon style graphics mingled with surreal moments as Sophi explores a dark and dangerous world. Alright, so it's not exactly David Lynch material, but you have to admit they did reel in a bit of the creep factor whilst maintaining an overall cuteness factor.

The Guild

Episode 6 of the 3rd season of The Guild is out! It's called Newbtastic and here we get to check out the fighting styles of Clara's husband … which isn't really saying much. Oh and there's a bit more angry stares and glares between Codex and Riley as well as a weird shoulder massage moment. Check it out!

Speaking of The Guild, there are a few recent developments. Firstly, The Guild and Felicia Day have been linking to websites for both Axis of Anarchy and the Finn Mulders portfolio page set up by the creepy guild. The AoA site is fantastic, especially the Feed the Trolls page. This page consists of emails received by the webmaster and it has some of the most hilarious comments. You could spend all day reading through this list. And you will get a kick out of some of the pictures on the Finns Mulders site.

Secondly, there is the bit of news announced by AICN. Apparently, Dark Horse is coming out with a Guild-based comic pretty soon. AICN has two preview pages of the comic and I must say it looks great. Keep an eye out for the release date!

Upcoming News

There was a bit of mention about Fable III, in relation to Project Natal. Nothing is confirmed but sounds like Lionhead is grinning smugly and implying that there just might be Natal in the third part of the popular RPG game. They are not confirming or denying anything; just grinning and hinting. Read more details at Play.tm.
