Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3DInvincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3DThere's been exciting developments regarding Xbox Live. Funnily enough, I am more interested in upcoming games than the current string of XBLA releases. On the other hand, Xbox Live got a major boost when it saw the release of the much loved gaming webseries, The Guild.

Go, go Han Tao

So let's see what was released for XBLA today. It's a button-bashing number called Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3D. Apparently it is the first to offer the snazzy 3D features for this platform. I take it it's time to buy a pair of anaglyph glasses. In all other aspects, it is quite an entertaining game. It's a side-scrolling game where you, as Han Tao, fend off attacks from the Evil Overlord. With snazzy moves, combos and mystical maneuvers, there is something very Wong Fei Hung about this guy (and I mean in  Once upon a time in China way).

The game was developed by Blitz Arcade and is available for 1200 MS points.

Also in the news....

Something new that's coming to XBLA soon – Defense Grid. Judging from the excited reviews all over the net, it's appears to be a must-have game. Defense GridDefense GridIt's supposed to be a tower defense game where you get a wide array of upgrades for your nifty towers. It boasts different environments and all types of creepy enemies as well as unlockable modes. My only problems is this – wouldn't this work better on PC? I'm always unsure about playing strategy games on the console. Same with something like Oblivion. On the other hand, button-basher fighting games and action-adventure games like Silent Hill are best suited for consoles. At least that's my general experience.

Download The Guild

I mentioned The Guild last week. Of course, it was about their catchy Avatar song and this time it is about season 3 itself. All Guild fans take note: the first episode of the third season is now available as a downloadable video on Xbox Live. Here comes a bit of a spoiler. I thought the third season started off on a good note – Vork's funny as ever and the Tink stand-in was brilliant. Now I have to wait until next Tuesday to find out more about these queue jumpers.
