Hello, Xbox gamers! Glad to make your acquaintance. Looking over this space of the interwebs, I note something missing. Where are all the indie games? Well I think I will bring up weekly a few of the newer indie games hitting the scene.
This week's indie game is Castle Miner Z.
Now looking at the clip from Youtube, the temptation to call it a Minecraft rip off is high. In fact the general look down to the crafting screens scream Minecraft. But note the differences – more streamlined crafting. A supposedly larger world. Oh and guns. Craftable guns. These guns also have cross-hairs to assist player aim.
But despite being named Castle Miner Z there is something Minecraft definitely doesn't have. Zombies.
Not just zombies but fast moving zombies. These zombies also appear in the daytime. So no safety in the daylight like in Minecraft. Now being an indie game (of an indie game? Indiegameception??) it has it's share of known bugs. Going by the game's official youtube channel, this game needs a bit more polish.
The 24.71 mb game itself is available in two flavors. There's the free trial version for those cautious in spending their points. The full version is available for only 240 Xbox points. Considering it has 4.5 stars and over 4k comments, for all the comments of 'rip off!' it must be doing something right to court such high reviews.
Well and zombies. Who can hate on daylight zombies?
