Far Cry
What made this game great was threefold. Insane online death matches with tons of people. Same console multiplayer death matches with up to four persons. And finally, the ability to create your own virtual worlds down to the smallest details—you could play them online against others on the same console versus your friends when at home! The level-builder makes this game a timeless hit for the ages!
Perfect Dark
This is one of the oldest games for the Xbox 360 and one of the best shooters ever made! You will always hear me talking great about it because it rocked, and still does! This is one of the only games that allowed you play death matches as up to four people (signed in as guest gamer tags) on Xbox Live. You could also play the solo campaign cooperatively. Added vehicles like the hovercraft and flying mechs just add more to the candor and brilliance of this rarely seen gem of shooters!
Rainbow Six Vegas (1 and 2)
Both of these games, simply put, rocked and socked! The first offered extensive multiplayer, two person, split-screen combat. You formed a group of professionally trained SWAT team members and anti-terrorist members that purged the bad guys implementing group tactics and strategies, lest you fail. The second picked up right where the first left off, as Las Vegas fell under the clutch of terrorism once again. Perhaps, without a doubt, these are two of the most enthralling of multiplayer shooters ever to be created!
Why These Games All Rocked!
All of these games have one distinct thing in common (of many) that both made them rock, entertained us, and made them the most playable of all of the multiplayer shooters of their heyday: they allowed for multiplayer, same console warfare, and some of them even allowed two players to join under a guest gamer tag on Xbox Live for the ultimate shootout. Sadly, many of the shooters released today don’t even offer a same console multiplayer death match. They all center around everybody owning an Xbox 360 console and only playing online on Live. However, this is not right. Video games bring friends together. To hang out together, at one place and not across the world, which is cool, but still…come on people!
