Why You Won’t Be Seeing a New Xbox System in the Near Future!

If you have often stopped and thought or wondered about whether or not there will be a new Xbox system coming out soon, don’t! As it will be quite some time before Microsoft unveils their next endeavor in the next-generation consoles. And for many good reasons too my friends! In reality, it is always better this way, and no worries, I will fully explain as to why that is and just how much it matters in this day and age of developing technology as it relates to video game consoles!

Cost of Research and Development
First and foremost, Microsoft loses their asses on consoles, they typically take a few hundred dollar loss for each one that they sell, and hope to make it back with licensing royalties. Secondly, these consoles are not cheap to manufacture, and require professionally trained technicians, large and costly machinery and very expensive development costs that take years upon years to pay off.

Dwindling Economy
Did I mention that it takes years to pay off the R&D? Well with the current state of the economy it is neither in Microsoft’s nor Sony’s interest to develop and release a console in the near future that nobody can afford to buy! Especially when you consider that they are still banking on making more money that they have not as of yet on their existing systems. And, they are still figuring out why there are so many problems with their current systems. Perhaps they rushed these newer systems out too fast, and now they are paying the price for their eagerness.

RROD (Red Rings of Death)
Case and point: RROD. You know where your Xbox 360 dies and gives you those terrible red rings of death on the power button? Well, Microsoft just spent millions to correct this problem and don’t expect them to be shelling out more money in the future on a new system when they are still fixing problems with their existing systems!

Online Competition
Finally, don’t expect to see another gaming console as bulky and costly ever again when they are now considered to be pricey and obsolete. Newer companies are developing high tech cable modems, where you play all games online. Never buy a shoddy console again. Never pay for a game again. Instead, just pay a low monthly fee and play all the games that you love, all that you want. Expect the next Sony and Microsoft units to be online only. Thank Goodness for That!
