The Indie game for the week is – the $1 Zombie Game. Yes $1. And what does one dollar get you (other than zombies)? Well, it gets you guns AND zombies! The game progresses over a span of days. Each day you are given a set weapon, a set off weapon, a health pack, and a set amount of zombies to kill.
Your only mission objective: survive.
Each day assumingly gets tougher to achieve this simple objective. The graphics are a bit meh and the music even more so (though it was a nice touch to have a funeral dirge playing)...but you shoot zombies. It didn't claim to be the next Left4Dead. There's no hiding or running for your life. This is a simple can you hold out amongst a ravenous zombie horde.
The ammo is infinite, and with the varying weapons the pros and cons of each affect the difficulty of the level. Zombies race at you with no fear. Some weapons take a long time to recoil. Some take more than one hit to kill. The weather changes over the course of days showing time is passing. It's a zombie gauntlet, no frills not extras.
You also look like Spy from Team Fortress, just in stalker black.
Sometimes the zombies get so uppity they actually make it to your probably tired, hunched over form and hug you taking off ten points of damage. All in their little track suits.
Man this zombie Apocalypse is a bit meh.
Then again, you paid a dollar. Can't expect much for a dollar. So get your zombie frag fest on.
