If you are an avid Xbox 360 gamer, then you already have – without me having to even second guess – taken your gaming prowess to the next level by signing up for and using the all too popular internet medium that comprises Xbox Live. But let’s not be brash here shall we? Indeed, Xbox Live is a product of Microsoft, their servers and their defunct software. That being stated, we all know that it can be glitch-ridden and frustrating from time to time, or all of the time! So read on further to know why it sucks and how they could make it better!

Top Five Ways that Xbox Live Could be a Whole Lot Better!
1. No more freaking Xbox Live Points! This is a conundrum that really peeves me off! You already pay tons of cash to play the games, but now you have to pay to go Live? Please!
2. Real time servers that are updated! That’s right…how about giving us servers that can actually handle the intense payload that they are struggling to barely cover at the present? Read more

Top Three Reasons Why Sports Games Are Never the Same on Xbox Live!

If you enjoy playing sports games on the Xbox 360 as much as I do then you already know what happens when you try to play your buddies online: the game play changes entirely and the experience is almost nearly never as fulfilling as a same console match up. Perhaps this is because of shoddy engineering. Or perhaps because of different internet connection speeds, who knows for sure. One thing that is prevalent – namely in games like Madden NFL 2009 and NCAA Football 2009 – is that most sports games really dwindle in their offerings once you take them to the online stage.

After having spent numerous amounts of gaming play hours jabbing the controller on a variety of different sports games online, I have come to the conclusion that most sports game blow on Xbox Live. But, to further my point I do present to you the Top Three Reasons Why Sports Games Are Never the Same on Xbox Live. And if you disagree, please feel free to comment in. Read more

Top Three Xbox 360 Sports Games of All-Time

EA SportsWhile there are many different gaming companies that will constantly strive to make sports games for the Xbox 360 gaming console, rarely can they ever hope to touch the prowess and twenty years of video gaming history that the juggernaut, EA Sports currently holds. And, to be quite honest, when EA is consistently one of the top game makers in the world, and for good reasons too, is there really any point in trying to best them when they have better designers and developers, more industry clout and a far surpassing budget that dwarfs any fledgling companies? Nope. That is why you will never really see any other good sports game – because EA makes all of the good ones and shuts down the competition. Read more

Rainbow Six: Vegas - Strategy Meets Blazing Guns!

Rainbow 6 VegasI originally became hooked on the Rainbow Six series when I was in high school and, at the time, the two leading video game consoles of the day were Nintendo 64, and the Sega Dreamcast. Wow – how is that for a trip down memory lane? At any rate, the Rainbow Six series has always been one that got me all perked up and ready to battle terrorists to save the day. Even when it was released for the N64, the sole emphasis of the game was that of teamwork and strategy – working with your buddies (up to four per game console simultaneously) in order to successfully complete each mission. And, the dudes over at Ubisoft knew that they had better have one hell of a monster shooter in store for us Xbox junkies or else…but no worries: they more than came through with Rainbow Six: Vegas!

The core emphasis of the game is strategy and cooperation with your teammates. Read more

Perfect Dark: Zero – The First and Still the Best Xbox 360 Shooter

Pefect DarkIf you take a fond look back down memory road for the Xbox 360 gaming console’s many different shooters—most of which have horribly flopped for one good reason after another—you will find that they offer limited multiplayer functions and limited boards, and limited, well everything. This leads me to wonder why the shooters of today are not offering some pretty hot options and features that the shooters of yesteryear, which were released years ago and are far more outdated than the shooters of today, are now offering. For example, can you find or name a current hot selling shooter title of today that offers same console up to four player Xbox Live play – using friend tags for added controllers or profiles?

I think not. Can you find me a multiplayer that offers this, plenty of boards, bots that can be in the boards with real players and up to 48 players in one board at time, while allowing for same console multiplayer? No you could never find one. Read more

GTA IV News – A Sneak Peak at new Downloadable Content “The Lost & the Damned”

I know, I know, it seems like forever that we have all been anxiously awaiting this so called downloaded exclusive content for Grand Theft Auto IV. And while numerous hit titles have debuted in the wherewith while, there is still no promised lofty content from Microsoft and Rockstar Games. And if I remember correctly, they promised us such content in November of 2008, and still NO CONTENT! I know, because being a huge GTA fan and nut, this pisses me off more than anything else in recent video gaming years. For more reasons than one they need more GTA IV content. Because the game is limited when compared to older versions that have more things to drive and ride, more side missions and things to go into—like clothing stores and banks—and far more hours of endless, joyful playing time. But I can tell you that honestly there will be no more delays. Read more

Turok: The Newest Dinosaur Fighter Rocks and Socks

If you don’t recall all of the hype, the many commercials that were saturating the web, the TV and nearly every bus stop that you could drive by, then you are forgetting the third quarter of 2008, which saw the release of the long awaited, much anticipated dinosaur shooter classic, Turok. In a nutshell, this game rides on the notion of a special forces dude who ends up in a jungle somewhere, somehow and has to fight off dinosaurs and enemies who are trying to connive together to bring evil to the world. Touchstone and Propaganda Games were the brainstorming neophytes behind this conception, which has netted them plenty of hype, and allowed them to brandish one of the more successful shooter games because of the uniqueness and well produced games that have always been the status quo in the Turok series. And this one is no different. In fact, it’s the best Turok yet, and will remain that way for quite some time. Now on to the goodies.

The Graphics are the best part of Turok and are simply amazing and brilliant. Read more

Madden NFL 08 – Was the Best NFL Game Ever

I know I know, you are all wondering what in the hell would prompt me to write about Madden NFL 2008 when the 09’ version is already out. Simple. Because I aim to review ultimately all of the Xbox 360 games that were ever released for the console. New or old, good or bad. In the US or in Europe – I want to play them all and write about them all. Enough Said. So with that out of the way, I must honestly tell you that I spent ample amounts of hours behind the screen of Madden NFL 2008. It was, by far the greatest football game of all time. Period. And I know what some of you naysayers are thinking. What about 2k Sports and what about the fabulous 2k football series that was inadvertently canned when Madden – or shall I say, EA sports – was awarded the exclusive NFL franchise rights for video games, which if I remember correctly won’t expire until sometime in 2010. So, given that 2k can’t make a real NFL game, and that All Pro Football stinks worse than a sweaty football jersey, all we have is Madden. And it is the best football game out there. Read more

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men - Awesome Multiplayer Thrill Ride!

Just when you though that there would never be a great multiplayer cooperative game for the Xbox 360 console, aside from Perfect Dark Zero and the astute Halo series, bam they hit us with this intensely awesome masterpiece. While you can play this game as just one player, people take my advice—this game is best shared with a friend. The narrative and the plot are totally original, it’s like your are playing a movie, but they don’t riddle you with endless cinematic cuts that bore you to tears and take away from the game, like we all saw in Jericho. What you will find with this timeless classic, which was the spawning of Eidos Interactive, and that saw a late 2007 release date, if you could even find a copy, is that this game is awesome, well done and original. It will engulf you from the get-go and it’s a bloody battle that offers nonstop action and fun, all packaged nicely into a game that they finally offer a two player coop mode on; thank goodness for that!

When you play two players one of you is Kane and the other is Lynch. Read more

FIFA Soccer 2007 – Best Soccer Game of 06’/07’

It’s rather unfortunate I must say, that when you can only find one decent soccer game to play for the entire fiscal year of 2007. But at least the one that I am about to tell you all shabby is perhaps, in my opinion at least, one of the better soccer games that you will ever play, and quite possibly the best ball kicking game of the year 2007. Surprisingly, this game was a joint venture by EA Canada and their US publisher, and counterpart, Electronic Arts. And in the candid EA tradition, it saw the first light of day in early October of 2006 – just like all of the sports games that EA makes, which are almost always released the yearend prior to the actual year that they represent.

I know…it’s weird that they do that. Back on track here, EA pulled out all of the stops when it comes to FIFA 07’ by introducing a greatly vamped up graphics engine, many glitch fixes that drag down the prior versions of the game, better looking stadiums and more of them, and more elusive moves that you can use with your players.
