Does Xbox 360 Have a Master Plan for the Future of Gaming Consoles?

Be the First to Comment!

Have you ever wondered what the future of video gaming consoles is going to be? What the next consoles of the future will look like and just what they will be capable of offering to us video game loving masses? If you have, then you may want to take a few moments to read this article and see what our thoughts are on the matter. You might be surprised!

Why Gaming Consoles are Actually Obsolete!
Think about it for a minute. Bulky consoles that overheat, have bad graphics cards and about a million and one issues surrounding them that cause them to be overpriced, when the answer is clearly the internet. If gaming console makers can realize this, they will all convert rather quickly to a purely online medium, as you are already seeing with Xbox Live. In the future, they won’t fret over consoles. Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage & The Pitt: Three Games in One (Best 09’ Value)!

Fallout 3 is a monster of a game that took nearly four years to make and has several games (two) that are a bit different which preceded it. Bethesda (the maker of the game) took their sweet time creating one of the largest and most graphically superb free-worlds to ever be designed. They didn’t stop there. Tons of different weapons enhance game play and the gore factor is at a max – you can even shoot heads off bodies, limbs from torsos and blow up your friends or foes into smithereens and goop. In short: Fallout 3 is the most exciting, graphically awesome and interactive free-world role playing game to ever hit the store shelves. If you have not played it yet, do so and soon! But wait…it gets better, there are now two expansions for this game…see below!

Operation Anchorage
While this expansion was rather lousy, in that you must enter a simulated version of a war and beat it, it does add more to the game. Read more

Why are more Newer Versions of Games Totally Different Than Their Predecessors?

I know that I am getting old as a gamer when I hear myself fretting about the always changing industry. However, there are some changes that simply don’t make any sense to me at all! For example, when games are radically different, and have spanned a series on the same console, and the newer versions offer less features than their predecessors did. Then what am I (or you) supposed to think? Why take more away and give us less and call it more? Why eliminate sought after features that made such games great? Let’s take a look at three culprits that have done this recently, shall we?

Far Cry 1 and 2
While both versions of this game are great, the first offered closed level boards. It offered an easy to use level builder and same console multiplayer. The second is a massive free-world board that doesn’t relate at all to the storyline of the first. Read more

Most Playable Multiplayer Shooters: Rainbow Six Vegas (1 & 2), Perfect Dark & Far Cry

Far Cry
What made this game great was threefold. Insane online death matches with tons of people. Same console multiplayer death matches with up to four persons. And finally, the ability to create your own virtual worlds down to the smallest details—you could play them online against others on the same console versus your friends when at home! The level-builder makes this game a timeless hit for the ages!

Perfect Dark
This is one of the oldest games for the Xbox 360 and one of the best shooters ever made! You will always hear me talking great about it because it rocked, and still does! This is one of the only games that allowed you play death matches as up to four people (signed in as guest gamer tags) on Xbox Live. You could also play the solo campaign cooperatively. Read more

If you are unfamiliar with the smash hit video game, Rock Band (and yes I know that the second version is already out and selling hotter than nearly any other game ever to be released) then you may not know why it rocks so hard! And for those of you who are familiar with this smash hit title, many of you are already haplessly hooked on its solid offerings and endless hours of interactive, multiplayer entertainment. However, I felt it entirely necessary, and with good reason, to laud and tout this game as it is one of the more enjoyable games that you can play, and for oh so many good reasons. Whether you are a musician or not, a rock star or a normal person: Rock Band Rocks!

Top Five Reasons Why Rock Band is the Shizzle!
1. You can form your own virtual rock band and take over the world of music. Even Guitar Hero is limited in this capacity. Read more

Two More Reasons to Play GTA IV!

As if you needed anymore reasons to play one of the best free-world games ever to be created, let me provide you two more candid reasons as to why! The wonderful thing that separates the newer Grand Theft Auto (IV) from the older one (San Andreas) is that unlike the Xbox version, the Xbox 360 version has exclusive downloadable, expandable content from Microsoft. I know (whine), all of you Sony cats get screwed with downloaded content. But, for those of you who love the Xbox 360 (me), the future is shining bright indeed.

Two More Reasons to Play GTA IV: In so many words, there are two expansions, one that is available and one that is coming towards the end of 2009. And, you can easily expect them to keep dishing them out in the years to come!

1. The Lost and the Damned: You are pitted in the shoes of a motorcycle gang leader who has just gotten out of rehab. Read more

Eragon: This is perhaps the most boring, thumb numbing game of all time. Boasting a two player same console interface, basically hack and slash at the same enemies over and over again until your eyes pop out of your skull; seriously! Read more

Why You Won’t Be Seeing a New Xbox System in the Near Future!

If you have often stopped and thought or wondered about whether or not there will be a new Xbox system coming out soon, don’t! As it will be quite some time before Microsoft unveils their next endeavor in the next-generation consoles. And for many good reasons too my friends! In reality, it is always better this way, and no worries, I will fully explain as to why that is and just how much it matters in this day and age of developing technology as it relates to video game consoles!

Cost of Research and Development
First and foremost, Microsoft loses their asses on consoles, they typically take a few hundred dollar loss for each one that they sell, and hope to make it back with licensing royalties. Read more

Three Xbox 360 Games to Avoid at All Costs!

Be the First to Comment!

So many games for the Xbox 360, so little time to play them all—and especially even less time to devote to games that suck! So, in order to save you time, money and frustration, the following three games are so bad that you don’t ever even need to rent them. Unless you are fond of wasting your own time and money and getting frustrated at shoddy games for the Xbox 360.

Destroy All Humans 2
Another game that touted the illustrious same console two player mode, only to be a big time letdown in the end! After plopping this horse apple into my Xbox 360, I was treated to the same monotony of the first game, which equally blows. Two player mode is terrible. You are confined to one camera angle and the excitement offered is paramount to singing folk songs for senior citizens at the local nursing home!

How do you spell Elder Scrolls: The Oblivion rip off in nine letters or less? Easy: Two Worlds. Read more

Microsoft Claims to have Resolved RROD (Red Ring of Death Problems)

Be the First to Comment!

X-Box ButtonThere are a many people who are currently suing Microsoft Corporation in a class action lawsuit that claims that the company defrauded consumers by producing lousy systems that they knew to be prone to failures. Namely, the biggest culprit of Xbox 360 gaming consoles failing has become nostalgically known as RROD or, the Red Rings of Death. The Xbox has a power button on the front side of the creamy, white unit. When turned on, it will display four green circles and then light up, and leave on of the corners, or more, lit depending on how many controllers are plugged in at the time of system boot up (you can use up to four controllers simultaneously on the Xbox 360).

If there is a system problem that has occurred with your Xbox 360, upon booting up the unit, the rings that are green, will turn into the dreaded Red Rings of Death. Read more
