Godfather II: The Best Free-World Mafia Game Ever!

1 New Comment: Join In!

This game has it all: violence, criminal enterprises, newer and more improved cars, especially the physics and how they handle, and one of the largest free-world cities to ever be created for any game. Considering that Grand Theft Auto IV is the biggest rival to this franchise, EA more than likely felt that they had to go above and beyond anything that they had ever done before in order to at least provide some form of competition to the juggernaut that is GTA and Rockstar. And guess what? They fully deliver on all levels.

Better camera angles provide much more depth to the playing field. There are more things to do, namely by allowing you to build your family, create ‘Made Men’ and constantly expand your criminal enterprise to the farthest reaches possible—not to mention plenty of new and nifty weapons to use! While the game borrows a bit here and there from the movie series, it really shouldn’t be confused as a classic game after movie title. Read more

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage & The Pitt: Three Games in One (Best 09’ Value)!

Fallout 3 is a monster of a game that took nearly four years to make and has several games (two) that are a bit different which preceded it. Bethesda (the maker of the game) took their sweet time creating one of the largest and most graphically superb free-worlds to ever be designed. They didn’t stop there. Tons of different weapons enhance game play and the gore factor is at a max – you can even shoot heads off bodies, limbs from torsos and blow up your friends or foes into smithereens and goop. In short: Fallout 3 is the most exciting, graphically awesome and interactive free-world role playing game to ever hit the store shelves. If you have not played it yet, do so and soon! But wait…it gets better, there are now two expansions for this game…see below!

Operation Anchorage
While this expansion was rather lousy, in that you must enter a simulated version of a war and beat it, it does add more to the game. Read more

Far Cry
What made this game great was threefold. Insane online death matches with tons of people. Same console multiplayer death matches with up to four persons. And finally, the ability to create your own virtual worlds down to the smallest details—you could play them online against others on the same console versus your friends when at home! The level-builder makes this game a timeless hit for the ages!

Perfect Dark
This is one of the oldest games for the Xbox 360 and one of the best shooters ever made! You will always hear me talking great about it because it rocked, and still does! This is one of the only games that allowed you play death matches as up to four people (signed in as guest gamer tags) on Xbox Live. You could also play the solo campaign cooperatively. Read more

Two More Reasons to Play GTA IV!

1 New Comment: Join In!

As if you needed anymore reasons to play one of the best free-world games ever to be created, let me provide you two more candid reasons as to why! The wonderful thing that separates the newer Grand Theft Auto (IV) from the older one (San Andreas) is that unlike the Xbox version, the Xbox 360 version has exclusive downloadable, expandable content from Microsoft. I know (whine), all of you Sony cats get screwed with downloaded content. But, for those of you who love the Xbox 360 (me), the future is shining bright indeed.

Two More Reasons to Play GTA IV: In so many words, there are two expansions, one that is available and one that is coming towards the end of 2009. And, you can easily expect them to keep dishing them out in the years to come!

Tomb Raider: Anniversary

It seemed to take quite some time for this game to really evolve, even after having a few hit movies to boast and brag about on its shoulders. However, the truth be known, Tomb Raider is one of the best selling video games in history and not because it sucks! On the contrary, it offers a more unique experience that merges first person shooters with strategy and problem solving, combined with first rate graphics and bosses that will leave most people dizzy they are so impressed.

The coolest feature that I found in Tomb Raider: Anniversary is called “Bullet Dodge.” This is similar to the Max Payne ‘Slow Time’ feature. If your power meter is charged you can literally slow down time enough that you can see bullets flying at you and successfully dodge them. The graphics are really incredible and the frame rates are fast and serene. Read more

Gun: A Wild West, GTA-Styled, Action-Packed Adventure for All!

Rarely do you see any Wild West shooters for any video game system anymore, or ever for that matter. Much less do you see them debut on the Xbox 360. But if you will take a trip back in time with me for a moment, let’s revisit one of the better, first person shooters to ever make its way to the next generation video gaming consoles, namely the Xbox 360, shall we?

Gun offers amazing graphics and a huge, Wild West free world that you could explore on foot or horseback. You are the son a hunter that becomes entangled in a conspiracy that threatens to derail peace with the native tribes and pit the west into another civil war. When your father is killed by thugs, you decide to embark upon a quest to clear his name and figure out just what the hell happened. Amazing graphics and a brilliant plot augment this classic shooter that is most certainly one of a kind.

The controls take a bit to get the hang of, namely with the shooting aspects. Read more

Biggest Letdown Shooter: Soldier of Fortune Payback

The long awaited and much anticipated, and generally speaking over hyped sequel the very popular Soldier of Fortune series makes its debut and respective flop on the Xbox 360 console. A word to the wise here: some games are just much better when played on the computer, because the computer can handle more processes and functions, namely with a better graphics card than the 360 has to offer. So in short: this game is great fun on any PC, however veer way clear of it if you own a next generation video gaming console, as you are in for a most certain letdown my friends!

You take the shoes of a clandestine, government funded mercenary that is hired to hunt down terrorists and bring them to vigilante, bloody justice. Travel the world afar, but be limited to closed pathway boards that are not free world. Read more

Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage Expansion Pack

Be the First to Comment!

If you are as big of a fan of the game Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360 as I am, then you already know that the long awaited Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage Expansion Pack was late in delivery by several weeks. It was supposed to be available for download at the end of January, but we gamers had to wait until the end of February to get our hands upon it. And once we did, the name Fallout should have change to Letdown, because this expansion pack sucks a big one!

The expansion pretty much adds a distress beacon to your Pip Boy broadcast. It’s the Outcast, a similar faction to the Brotherhood of Steel, but one that has gone their own way. The expansion also adds a few more buildings and a few lame side missions, like collecting scrap metal for trade to the Outcast and so on. Read more

Battlefield: Bad Company – Fully Destructible Environments Equals A+

If you can think back all the way to original Xbox with me for a brief moment, there is a game that I wish to compare this awesome game to: Red Faction 2. Back in the heyday of the original Xbox, destructible environments were rarely seen. Then along came Red Faction 2, and by far, they changed the scenery of good Xbox games forever. So in that tried and true ambiance and tradition, I do present to you, what is perhaps the greatest destructible environment shooter of our day: Battlefield: Bad Company.

The game pits you in the shows of soldiers from the failed B Company—guys that are sent there for screwing up too much in special forces, but that are still highly trained and therefore are sent on clandestine missions to hunt down mercenaries and drug lords, and mostly to catch all of the bullets in their chest before the real pros go into action! The game play features much in-game banter, plenty of vulgarity and has a decent plot that will not leave you feeling too bored in the end. Read more

Army of Two will Make you Hate Their Multiplayer Schemes!

Be the First to Comment!

Army of TwoI love Electronic Arts, but that does not mean that they are not capable of producing a lackluster video game title for the Xbox 360. And before all you lovers of Army of Two go on your brandishing of me for my lack of caring about this game, the game itself is sweet, offers some cool and unique innovations and has amazing graphics. But, the two player functions are sloppy, shoddy and forbidding—and ultimately they ruined the entire experience of the game for me. Trust me, I will tell you all that I loved and hated about this game in the paragraphs that follow!

The game is setup like you are a two man army. You can outfit your soldiers and the game does offer a decent in game tutorial so that you both know how to work together as one. But, you can only play the game with either another player present on the same console, or live. That is, unless you want to be subjected to the computer playing your partner and sucking ass because of poorly created AI. Read more
