    Be the First to Comment!

The mantra of Madden is a dynasty franchise that has spawned around twenty years of amazing football video games. They have outdone everybody in between. They have put other video game companies to shame. EA Sports has really dug their stakes in deep with Madden, and never has let us down – at least not all that much. But still…this blogger has some quips with the 2009 Madden!

Five Pros and Cons for Madden NFL Football 2009 (Yes Five of Each!)
I have played this game nearly to its death. I love it and I hate it. One could easily say that it is most assuredly a love and hate relationship. Obviously there are many reasons that cause me to feel this way about such a great video game. So…I felt it necessary to fully explain myself by highlighting five pros and cons that this ever so popular – and one of the best selling video games of all time – has to offer; or not to offer! • Best Three Backwards Compatible Games on Xbox 360

    Be the First to Comment!

There are roughly a bit over a hundred of backwards compatible games (games that work from the old Xbox to the Xbox 360 provided that you have downloaded the required emulator from Microsoft) that one can play on the Xbox 360. However, many of them just plain suck when crossed over. Yet at the same time there are few titles that just have never been downplayed since their glory days on the original Xbox. So, let’s take a look at my top three picks for crossover games that are still fun to play today!

    Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
One of the best skateboarding video games ever to be created—and this game added the front and rear manual tricks and the build-a-park editor. To this day I still enjoy the simplicity of this game, the tricks and the custom boards. And yes…Skate 2 rocks!

    Red Faction 2
This game was perhaps the best shooter and multiplayer death match game of its time. It is now being remade into a free-world game for the Xbox 360. Read more

  • Top Five Ways that Xbox Live Could be a Whole Lot Better!

    Be the First to Comment!

If you are an avid Xbox 360 gamer, then you already have – without me having to even second guess – taken your gaming prowess to the next level by signing up for and using the all too popular internet medium that comprises Xbox Live. But let’s not be brash here shall we? Indeed, Xbox Live is a product of Microsoft, their servers and their defunct software. That being stated, we all know that it can be glitch-ridden and frustrating from time to time, or all of the time! So read on further to know why it sucks and how they could make it better!

Top Five Ways that Xbox Live Could be a Whole Lot Better!
    1. No more freaking Xbox Live Points! This is a conundrum that really peeves me off! You already pay tons of cash to play the games, but now you have to pay to go Live? Please!
    2. Real time servers that are updated! That’s right…how about giving us servers that can actually handle the intense payload that they are struggling to barely cover at the present? Read more

  • What Ever Happened to Virtual Reality Games: None for the Xbox 360

    Be the First to Comment!

Do you ever recall all of those different virtual reality games that were out there floating around in the late nineties and throughout the first part of this new century. Well if you do, then – as the picture to upper left demonstrates – you would easily recall that such games required the wearing of rather bulky glasses, sometimes accompanied by gloves, a vest, and in extreme cases a sphere (see the video at the bottom of this blog post). But, unlike Nintendo, whom even bodes their current console on its semi-virtual reality offerings, Xbox 360 thus far has refrained. And if you ask me…they never will walk down that path!

Were Virtual Reality Games Just Lame?
These games always were limited. They had slower frame rates, bad graphics and terrible plots. Because of the propensity of the game itself, being that you had to see in 360 degrees around you at all times, they were by nature limited. So in answer, yes they were and are lame. Read more

  • Top Three Reasons Why Sports Games Are Never the Same on Xbox Live!

    Be the First to Comment!

If you enjoy playing sports games on the Xbox 360 as much as I do then you already know what happens when you try to play your buddies online: the game play changes entirely and the experience is almost nearly never as fulfilling as a same console match up. Perhaps this is because of shoddy engineering. Or perhaps because of different internet connection speeds, who knows for sure. One thing that is prevalent – namely in games like Madden NFL 2009 and NCAA Football 2009 – is that most sports games really dwindle in their offerings once you take them to the online stage.

After having spent numerous amounts of gaming play hours jabbing the controller on a variety of different sports games online, I have come to the conclusion that most sports game blow on Xbox Live. But, to further my point I do present to you the Top Three Reasons Why Sports Games Are Never the Same on Xbox Live. And if you disagree, please feel free to comment in. Read more

  • Godfather II: The Best Free-World Mafia Game Ever!

    1 New Comment: Join In!

This game has it all: violence, criminal enterprises, newer and more improved cars, especially the physics and how they handle, and one of the largest free-world cities to ever be created for any game. Considering that Grand Theft Auto IV is the biggest rival to this franchise, EA more than likely felt that they had to go above and beyond anything that they had ever done before in order to at least provide some form of competition to the juggernaut that is GTA and Rockstar. And guess what? They fully deliver on all levels.

Better camera angles provide much more depth to the playing field. There are more things to do, namely by allowing you to build your family, create ‘Made Men’ and constantly expand your criminal enterprise to the farthest reaches possible—not to mention plenty of new and nifty weapons to use! While the game borrows a bit here and there from the movie series, it really shouldn’t be confused as a classic game after movie title. Read more

  • Does Xbox 360 Have a Master Plan for the Future of Gaming Consoles?

    Be the First to Comment!

Have you ever wondered what the future of video gaming consoles is going to be? What the next consoles of the future will look like and just what they will be capable of offering to us video game loving masses? If you have, then you may want to take a few moments to read this article and see what our thoughts are on the matter. You might be surprised!

Why Gaming Consoles are Actually Obsolete!
Think about it for a minute. Bulky consoles that overheat, have bad graphics cards and about a million and one issues surrounding them that cause them to be overpriced, when the answer is clearly the internet. If gaming console makers can realize this, they will all convert rather quickly to a purely online medium, as you are already seeing with Xbox Live. In the future, they won’t fret over consoles. • Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage & The Pitt: Three Games in One (Best 09’ Value)!

    2 Comments: Join In!

Fallout 3 is a monster of a game that took nearly four years to make and has several games (two) that are a bit different which preceded it. Bethesda (the maker of the game) took their sweet time creating one of the largest and most graphically superb free-worlds to ever be designed. They didn’t stop there. Tons of different weapons enhance game play and the gore factor is at a max – you can even shoot heads off bodies, limbs from torsos and blow up your friends or foes into smithereens and goop. In short: Fallout 3 is the most exciting, graphically awesome and interactive free-world role playing game to ever hit the store shelves. If you have not played it yet, do so and soon! But wait…it gets better, there are now two expansions for this game…see below!

    Operation Anchorage
While this expansion was rather lousy, in that you must enter a simulated version of a war and beat it, it does add more to the game. Read more

  • Why are more Newer Versions of Games Totally Different Than Their Predecessors?

    Be the First to Comment!

I know that I am getting old as a gamer when I hear myself fretting about the always changing industry. However, there are some changes that simply don’t make any sense to me at all! For example, when games are radically different, and have spanned a series on the same console, and the newer versions offer less features than their predecessors did. Then what am I (or you) supposed to think? Why take more away and give us less and call it more? Why eliminate sought after features that made such games great? Let’s take a look at three culprits that have done this recently, shall we?

    Far Cry 1 and 2
While both versions of this game are great, the first offered closed level boards. It offered an easy to use level builder and same console multiplayer. The second is a massive free-world board that doesn’t relate at all to the storyline of the first. Read more

  • Most Playable Multiplayer Shooters: Rainbow Six Vegas (1 & 2), Perfect Dark & Far Cry

    Be the First to Comment!

    Far Cry
What made this game great was threefold. Insane online death matches with tons of people. Same console multiplayer death matches with up to four persons. And finally, the ability to create your own virtual worlds down to the smallest details—you could play them online against others on the same console versus your friends when at home! The level-builder makes this game a timeless hit for the ages!

    Perfect Dark
This is one of the oldest games for the Xbox 360 and one of the best shooters ever made! You will always hear me talking great about it because it rocked, and still does! This is one of the only games that allowed you play death matches as up to four people (signed in as guest gamer tags) on Xbox Live. You could also play the solo campaign cooperatively. Read more
