The Incredible Hulk
I must admit that I was not expecting much when I decided to pop the green giant’s video game into my white Xbox 360 console, and the fact that I didn’t get much in the end was really no surprise. After seeing both movies in the theater and getting duped out of my hard earned cash two times in a row for a movie that was a flop at first, only to remade few short years later to only flop again. So, needless to say, I was not expecting very much at all from the game, and I got exactly what I expected.
A few special moves reminded my of nearly ever other video game, namely Rampage with better graphics. Cut scenes are terrible and pixilated. The city is poorly designed and reminds one of how buildings would just suddenly appear when playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. In that awesome game’s defense, however, it was for the Xbox, and this crappy module is supposed to be “Next Generation!”
The city has not much to offer except that you can go around destroying things. And that is limited as well. You can break cars and damage certain buildings but other buildings are impervious…how does that equate? The controls are sloppy and unresponsive and the game in the end is just a real big waste of time with poor graphics, slipping frame rates and no real plot to speak of. And, does anybody else agree with me that there is only one true Hulk: Lou Ferigno?
“The Incredible Hulk video game is just a shoddy, game after movie flop that we have seen oh so many times. Think if Superman the video game were to meet Spiderman, but they dumbed down the boards, added many limitations to the free-world levels, made some things destructible and others not, and your character was big and green. While the game itself has not much to do with either shoddy movie – and trust me, both movies were crap and failed – it still has nothing of any real merit to offer a massive video game audience. In short: it sucks. Play Spiderman if you want a superhero free-world game with much to offer. But veer away from this green piece of junk at all costs!”
My Score: 5 out of 10
