Gun: A Wild West, GTA-Styled, Action-Packed Adventure for All!

Rarely do you see any Wild West shooters for any video game system anymore, or ever for that matter. Much less do you see them debut on the Xbox 360. But if you will take a trip back in time with me for a moment, let’s revisit one of the better, first person shooters to ever make its way to the next generation video gaming consoles, namely the Xbox 360, shall we?

Gun offers amazing graphics and a huge, Wild West free world that you could explore on foot or horseback. You are the son a hunter that becomes entangled in a conspiracy that threatens to derail peace with the native tribes and pit the west into another civil war. When your father is killed by thugs, you decide to embark upon a quest to clear his name and figure out just what the hell happened. Amazing graphics and a brilliant plot augment this classic shooter that is most certainly one of a kind.

The controls take a bit to get the hang of, namely with the shooting aspects. But an in depth, in game tutorial will make even the lousiest of gamers the best of shooters within the first few hours of game play. The frame rates are decent and the gore is first rate. You can blow peoples heads off, shoot off their hands, feet and fingers, or set them on fire and loot their dead corpses. The most fun that I found was riding from horseback and blowing people to bits. Another cool feature is the duel feature, where you can challenge enemies to a ten-step, stop and shoot duel to the death.

“Gun was a game the offered much to us all, especially considering that it was one of the few games that came out so early for the Xbox 360 that it was actually a crossover from the original Xbox. While there is no game play difference between the games on the different consoles, Gun is fantastic. The only shooter of its kind: a wild west set shooter that offers a rich plot and storyline, plenty of places to explore and some pretty rampant and extremely violent graphics. Think GTA meets the Wild West and you will have the right idea in mind for this early, smash mouth shooter for the Xbox 360.”
