Editor’s Pick on Best Top-Three Free-World Xbox 360 Games of All Time
After playing and beating all of the games that are going to be presented in this article, as the editors we have to be choosy when deciding which games we should present as some of the best free world games of all time. That being stated firmly, there are only three games that can even hope to make this competition, as from our standpoint, a game needs to offer much more than just a free world and open adventure to qualify as the best of its breed! So, on to the top three, at least in our minds!
Elder Scrolls IV: The Oblivion
An Action packed, choose your own adventure, free world, role playing game that is literally the only of its kind. Your character has one of the largest free worlds to explore in video gaming history. Grow your character’s stats by learning skills. Enchant weapons. Create armor and swords, learn how to become a blacksmith, thief, sorcerer, villain, tyrant, vampire, and so on. Endless hours of game play, hundreds of side missions and the best damn graphics that you will ever see easily make this game number one!
Fallout 3
Raise your character up the ranks in a post nuclear Washington D.C. Use tons of weapons, explore a radiation ravaged wasteland. Learn how to build weapons, repair armor and guns, and shoot your way to the top of the dynasty. Control your own fate. Good or evil: it’s your choice. The best gore in any video game ever!
Grand Theft Auto IV
Banned in many countries, this game is awesome. Steal cars. Pillage gangsters. Sell drugs. Assassinate cops. And work your way up the criminal underground in a near replica of New York City. The sweetest shooter on the planet earth, with tons of missions and downloads, excellent Live Play!

Amongst some pretty candid rivalry, like Gears of War, Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter, and even Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Elder Scrolls once again takes the cake as the best Xbox 360 game of all time. And following up with that game, Bethesda has released Fallout 3, which has already won the 2008 Game of the Year Award and is well on it’s way to another victory in 2009 for it’s expansion, The Pitt!
